O Ford Edge 2011 será oferecido em HySeries Drive, que utiliza tecnologia de versão no mundo real que é actualmente utilizado no Ford modelo conceito Airstream. Foi revelado em 2007 Detroit Auto Show. Ele vai usar hidrogênio da célula combustível híbrido de série movidos powertrain.O peso do modelo será de 1000 kg a mais do que o modelo Edge convencional.

O powertrain no modelo 2011 Ford Edge vai conter 5 bateria partes básicas de lítio-íon, célula de combustível, dois motores elétricos e um tanque de hidrogênio. O modelo de SUV pode funcionar até 25 milhas na eletricidade sozinha. Com o motor poderoso, o SUV crossover combinado pode atingir a economia de combustível de 41 milhas por galão.
As características padrão a ser incluído no modelo 2011 Ford Edge estão computador de bordo, bússola, suspensão independente nas quatro rodas, suspensão traseira multi link, relógio, suspensão dianteira MacPherson, indicador de temperatura externa, na frente e barra estabilizadora traseira e sistema de alerta de baixa combustíveis .

O modelo SUV de última geração, 2011 Ford Edge será equipado com recursos completos de segurança desenvolvido como controle de tração traseira, portas com travas de segurança infantil, distribuição de brakeforce eletrônico, controle de estabilidade, frente dupla montada air bags, sistema de quatro rodas antibloqueio de frenagem, monitoramento da pressão dos pneus sistema, sensores de estacionamento traseiros, dianteiros e traseiros encostos de cabeça de altura regulável e sistema de alarme remoto anti-roubo.
